Founded in 1992 by Mr. Behraz Bahri, Counselor and Senior Accountant, Avicenna has been a trusted name in the Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland region for over three decades. The Name Behind the Legacy
The name “Avicenna” is inspired by Ibn Sina (Avicenna), a Persian polymath from the Islamic Golden Age (980–1037 CE). A pioneer in medicine, philosophy, astronomy, and logic, Ibn Sina is remembered for his intellectual rigor and ethical contributions to science and knowledge. At Avicenna Accounting, we carry forward that same spirit of wisdom, integrity, and innovation.
The Original Symbol
Our original logo featured the abacus—one of the earliest tools used for arithmetic and record-keeping—symbolizing our roots in traditional accounting principles. While our tools have evolved, our commitment to accuracy, clarity, and accountability remains the same. Today, our branding reflects a modern, forward-thinking firm that remains deeply grounded in trusted ideals.

In 2018, Pooya Bahri, MPA, Senior Accountant and CFO, joined the firm.
